Troubleshooting

Windows panel won't open

DragMotion shows in Premiere's menu on Windows but the panel won't open.

Updated · May 14, 2026

On Windows, panel-open issues usually come down to the PlayerDebugMode registry flag or a corrupted install.

Fix

Method 1: Set PlayerDebugMode in the Registry

  1. Quit Premiere
  2. Win + R → type regedit → Enter
  3. Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\CSXS.12
  4. In the right pane, add a String value called PlayerDebugMode with value 1
  5. Repeat for CSXS.11
  6. Re-open Premiere → Window → Extensions → DragMotion

Method 2: Uninstall + reinstall the extension

In ZXPInstaller (Anastasiy's Extension Manager) → remove DragMotion → quit Premiere → reinstall the ZXP → open Premiere.

Method 3: Clear the CEP cache

  1. Quit Premiere
  2. Delete: %APPDATA%\Adobe\CEP\ (the cache subfolder inside it)
  3. Re-open Premiere

Still not working?

  • Antivirus may be blocking Premiere's CEP runtime — whitelist Premiere
  • Run Repair on Premiere from Adobe Creative Cloud
