MOGRT import errors

Applying a MOGRT-based pack element throws an error.

Updated · May 14, 2026

MOGRT (Motion Graphics Template) based packs have a few Premiere requirements.

1. A sequence must be open

MOGRTs apply to the timeline — if there's no active sequence the operation errors. Open a sequence first, then click the effect.

2. Essential Graphics path must be writable

DragMotion copies MOGRTs into Premiere's "Local" Essential Graphics folder:

  • Win: %APPDATA%/Adobe/Common/Essential Graphics/Local/
  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Essential Graphics/Local/

The folder gets auto-created if missing, but unusual Adobe permission setups can fail.

3. Mac needs a node binary

On Mac the MOGRT parser needs a node binary. DragMotion auto-downloads this the first time you use a MOGRT. If you see "Node.js not found":

  1. Close and re-open the panel (triggers auto-download)
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Verify bin/node exists in your AppData

4. Premiere version too old?

DragMotion supports Premiere Pro 2020 (CC 14.0) and later. Earlier versions had a different MOGRT API and may error. Update Premiere.
